Zithromax
Zithromax is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria (skin infections, respiratory infections, ear infections and sexually transmitted infections).
How Taken
Take each capsule or tablet of Zithromax with a cup of water. Use
Zithromax exactly as it was prescribed for you, don't take it for longer than
recommended or take in larger amounts.
More Information
In children Zithromax is used to treat middle ear infections, tonsillitis, pneumonia and strep throat. Also Zithromax may be prescribed for other conditions that are not listed in this medication guide. Don't take antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours before or after you take Zithromax (for example Maalox, Mylanta, Pepcid, Milk of Magnesia, Rolaids and others). Don't use alcoholic beverages during the treatment time. Zithromax will not treat viral infections such as flu or common cold.
Warning/Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have medical condition such as: allergies to foodstuff, medicines or substances; if you have liver or kidney problems; if you are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant or are breast feeding and if you have abnormal heart rhythm. Zithromax may make your skin be sensitive to sunlight, so avoid sun, sunlamps or tanning booths. Use protective clothes or sunscreen.
Possible Side Effects
Usually the Zithromax therapy goes without problems. Some possible side effects that Zithromax may cause are: nausea, stomach pain, headache, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, vaginal itching or discharge, ringing in the ears, smell or taste changes, mild skin rash or itching, nervous feeling and sleep problems.
